Dear You, Please Do Not Ignore Me. Love, Your Website

What’s the point of having a site if you are not going to give it a little TLC. I say, that if you leave a stagnant website out there in cyberspace, you might as well be littering. It could be that you just don’t have time to update your site. If you have content management system (like ours) then you might be able to set your secretary or a nephew to do the updating for you. Either way, you need to find a way to show your site some love a couple times a month. Other tips that apply to this are:
- Make sure you do not leave old events up months after they have passed.
- If you feature pictures on your homepage, be sure to change them out frequently . You want people to come to your website often. If your site never changes then there is no reason to check for updates.
- Find a way to make your site interactive. If you have a blog with an article about how to avoid sales people in department stores, you can ask people to share their horror stories with sales people. This makes them feel involved.
- Stop thinking your website will update itself. We suggest working on a CMS, so that updating your site is easy. We have a web-based CMS that allows you to update and change your site from anywhere at anytime. Makes going on vacation a little less stressful.
Remember: Your website is your friend and it does not deserve to be ignored.
