Four Easy Tips to a Successful Email Marketing Campaign
1. Don't Be Sneaky When Gathering Email Addresses
Collect email addresses and information honestly. An effective campaign is started with gathering information from possible and current clients. When you grow a client email list, you gather people who have showed interest in your company already. This means they will be more likely to read the emails you send out.
2. Make Your Reader Feel Special
Personalize your email messages. When collecting email addresses from possible clients, we need to collect information on what provoked their interest in you and your company. This way you can group people into smaller groups and appeal to each of their needs separately.
3. If You Don't Have Anything To Say, Don't Send It
If you are forcing out newsletters every month and your message is bland and boring, chances are your recipients will stop reading them. They may even mark them as spam. Then your time and effort become worthless.
4. Send Your Call to the Universe
If you want to make sure that you are getting action from your email marketing campaign, sending out a call to action, such as a coupon, or limited time offer, is a great way to track your progress. As people interact with these, you will know how many people read the email and acted on its message.
These are just a few helpful hints from your friends at RocketFuel. We would be glad to meet with you and plan a successful email marketing campaign with you.

Tyler: These are excellent tips. I'd love to see Argyle send out a coupon on medical insurance.... haha!
Bob: Great suggestions, I wish more marketers would take into account "permission marketing" and earn the trust of their users before they try to sell (or spam) them. The more likely often someone emails me with irrelevant content, the less likely I'm going to respond to the message. A couple things I like to keep in mind before sending an email blast are; * Would the user likely to be reading this on a mobile device? Most of the time, the question is yes, so I make sure we have a text only version and keep the copy to a minimum. * The subject line should tell whats inside the message and not sell whats inside. * Label actions in such a manner so the user can expect what kind of content/page they will be taken to if they choose to click * Test how the message will look on different systems. An email on Yahoo, Outlook, Gmail, etc will most always look different to the end user. Taking this into account when you're designing your message really helps you determine the most important parts of your message.
