How to Avoid Blog Hiatus

Posted by on March 1st, 2010

Over the last several weeks, our blog has been silent due to super busy schedules.  Today we put an end to this for good.  Although our schedules can be hectic, there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to make time for our beloved Rocket Blog.  We have compiled several tips that will keep our blog from being ignored.

  1. Set a day every week for blogging.  If you have to, set a calendar alarm.  Setting aside time to write a quick 30 minute blog is really the first step.
  2. When in doubt, share an article your readers might find useful.  Although original articles are the best, we don’t always have the time to be creative and inventive.  This is why borrowing other peoples articles (and of course citing them as the author) can be a real timesaver.
  3. Write in bulk.  If you have time to, write several blog articles at a time.  If you have an arsenal of articles, you can launch them out once a week and save yourself a headache.
  4. Write down blog ideas during the day.  We sometimes think of the best blog ideas while in meetings.  Scribble it down and move on.  This way you don’t loose those priceless topics.
  5. Don't get the flu.  Seriously though.  It will hinder you blogging severly.

Follow these rules and you might just keep that blog alive yet!
