THE CLIENT
Located in beautiful, historic Central Gardens, Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal School (GSL) is a coeducational parish day school that serves more than 550 students, from preschool through 8th Grade. One of the leading independent schools in Memphis, GSL prepares students to become creative problem solvers, confident lifelong learners, and responsible citizens in their communities and the world.
THE CHALLENGE
GSL approached us for help making their website more colorful, inviting and functional. They liked the results so much, we continued working together on digital design, printed marketing materials and outdoor advertising, as well as the school’s biannual magazine, The Anchor.

GETTING AN EDUCATION
Our first step in redesigning GSL's website was conducting interviews with individual educators to uncover needs. We decided the site's look, feel and function should be inspired by the professionals who rely on it everyday.

Using everything we learned from these conversations, we developed a robust sitemap and began sketching the wireframes that would eventually bring it all to life.

After building a variety of features, like shareable schedules and a report card module, we held a special training session for all of the school's teachers and demonstrated how each could update his or her own dedicated classroom page. We even created a portal just for parents, making it easy for them to keep up with what's happening in their children's classes.

STAKEHOLDER FOCUS
We created an online space that reflects the open, positive culture happening everyday within the school itself. The result is a colorful, welcoming online presence that boasts a variety of tools to keep teachers organized and parents connected.

DESIGN THAT CONNECTS
From greeting the community outside the school to engaging parents in unexpected places, we used a variety of methods to share the smiling faces of students. The school's passion for educating the next generation takes center stage in every element.
